The Doctor Who thing (Devil's Advocate)

Fantastic.

Admirable

Terrific

Well, "The Sound of Drums" was just great..

Ten minutes in, I was absolutely hooked, and realised there was still time for the episode to get better, and you know what? It did! Twenty minutes in was better than ten minutes in, thirty better than twenty, cliffhanger better than the prior denouement....

…you get the idea.

Out and out.

Hellacious.

Exceptional.

Pointed

Self-aware, I especially liked the dig at those online going "X and Y are brothers!".

Dynamite.

Masterly.

Not one single destroying feature. Nothing dull in the whole episode. Nothing cringe worthy in the entire 45 minutes.

Just… consummate.

First rate, and based on the media-happy conceit that presenting John Simm as a Time Lord will excuse everything: John Simm is very good. He's rounded, lively, witty, and as enticing as everything else in the episode. Setting him up as the anti-Tennant would only work if he were as good as Tennant. He patently is. He's… enthralling.

Absolute.

Surpassing.

Tremendous.

Super duper…

…like "Aliens of London", but even surpassing that fantastic earlier tale…

…genius.

Russell… ? You've still got it. Sorry to deify, but you're just absolutely fantastic. It's magnificent.

Boring? Nah, not on your nelly.
